I photograph what I see around me, in both the natural, and man made environments. This web site will show my overwhelming interest in subjects that portray, what I can only describe as “ordered chaos”.
My feeling about much visual art is that it should raise questions, sometimes even before it is pleasing to the eye of any beholder.
Generally, my photographs are still life's. They are “inanimate”, but have been altered by the action of the elements of Water, Air, Fire, and Earth.
It is for this reason that I am also interested in taking photographs that have evidence of deterioration or “weathering”.
I like the abstraction that a results from the facade of a rusting car, or damp wall. The efforts of man to keep a structure alive with another slap of paint, or compositions in nature, without any man-made intervention.
This web site will include older photographs of people, and places I have lived and travelled to over the past 30 years.
I consider all subjects and compositions I photograph “faces" or facades. Most of my photos fill the frame with little or no exit from the subject.
This website is in an experimental stage at the present. Comments are greatly appreciated. Please let me know which facades you like most, or even specific examples of your favorites.
In time, it is my intention to refresh the facades, and to make limited edition photos available to order in different sizes. and quality of photgraphic paper.
